Q: I have the account number to send moeny, but I need more information to transfer money from outside the Korea.

Q: How can you know that I sent the money if I don't write my name as a sender?

A: The accout number you have is only for you. If you send the moeny to that account, the money will automatically be matched with your information.

Q: Can't I pay the dormitory fee with credit card? Isn't there any other method to send money other than transferring?

A: Paying with credit card is impossible. You can only pay with the account transferring. When you send the money, please send enough moeny to cover all commissions. If it's overpaid, the overpaid amount will be refunded after you come to Korea. So please pay enoughly. Also after you pay, please send the receipt to dormitory email address(dorm@skku.edu) so that we can know that you have paid and the money is on transferring.

§Why is the Voluntary Sleep Out Reporting System introduced?

  1. Without the roll call system, there may occur such a safety problem at our dormitory. Therefore, we decided to check whether any student is out of contact for a long period without their entry and exit, and then to contact them. By exploiting this system, when judged that serious matters happened to you, we can cope with that as early as possible. For students reporting their sleep Out in advance, the involved inconvenience will be minimized by omitting the individual contact procedure.
  2. Further, it is available to secure the emergency contact information of students staying outside the dorm for a long period, and to contact them more quickly in their emergency situation.

* It is possible to directly change and delete the relevant content until before the arrival of reported sleep Out period.
* When the initial schedule (plan) during the sleep Out period is extended, it is necessary to additionally fill in the content of sleep Out report on GLS.
 

During the vacation, the dormitory-admission rate is 40% of the semester's, so running all the dormitory's air-conditioners and/or heaters would be a waste of money and energy, also leading to national loss.  For this reason, Shin-kwan Building A is closed.  (In the past, residents were put in only one building during the vacation for this reason.)  During the two months of the vacation, there are outside conferences, company training workshops and study camps for one month.  During this time, outsiders stay in the dormitory and the university profits from this.  This profit is used to keep the dormitory fee as low as possible for future semesters and to maintain facilities.  (Government statistics from 2011 showed an average inflation of 5% per annum, but our dormitory fee increased by 2%.)

Faxes can be sent and received from the management office in Basement 1, Shin-kwan Building A.

Parcels will be kept in the parcel storage room, so you can collect them there.  The dormitory cannot be held responsible if parcels are lost or missing, so when you receive a message confirming delivery from the courier company, please collect it as soon as possible.

After consulting the warden in your building, we will decide whether you can see the CCTV recordings.  The CCTV is provided for safety and security, so if the loss is caused by your mistake you cannot check the CCTV.  As it is communal life, you should keep your valuables safe, and please be sure to close and lock your door.  Also, because of privacy concerns, you cannot check the CCTV yourself.  In special cases, you may be allowed to see it yourself partially.

The contact number is private information, so we cannot let you know this, but the management office can contact them on request.

Due to the communal nature of the dormitory, there is a curfew at night.  For comfort and safety, you cannot enter or leave the dormitory between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  However, in special circumstances such as exam periods, there will be a period with no curfew.  Please refer to notifications nearer the date for further information.

You can get registered from the security room.  Non-residents' post will be returned to the sender, so please be careful when you write the address.  Registered post arrives at the document room at 11:00 and arrives at Shin-kwan management office at 14:00.  It is delivered to each building's security room at about 15:00.

Please visit dormitory office(Shin-kwan A) and register the vehicle identifcation number on your bicycle.  Place the registration sticker on your bicycle.
