[Notice in English] The Date for Stopping of Heating and Starting of Cooling (Include Filter Cleaning)

Recently the weather has been changeable, so we understand it may have been inconvenient.

However, the dormitory heating and cooling is controlled centrally. To alternate between heating and cooling in such a large system would require the involvement of professionals, and would need pre-heating/ pre-cooling times, so when the temperature changes it isn't easy to switch between heating and cooling.

Therefore, the dormitory plans heating and cooling based on past experience, students' requirements, weather forecast, and records from recent years.

When the heating period is finished and we switch over to cooling, we need a special procedure with professionals who clean the air pipes, to ensure that clean cooling air is circulated. This procedure must occur between the heating and cooling times, when neither system is operational. In order not to inconvenience students, we are in discussions with technicians over how to keep this period as short as possible.

Furthermore, we are changing the filters in the heaters/ coolers in each room during this period so that fresh air is supplied.

Please therefore refer to the schedule below to see when the technicians will visit your room, and please cooperate with them.

1. End of heating

- Sin-gwan, In-gwan, Ui-gwan, Ye-gwan, Ji-gwan: 09:00, Wed. 4th May

2. Start of cooling

- Sin-gwan, In-gwan, Ui-gwan, Ye-gwan, Ji-gwan: 09:00-20:00, Mon. 9th May

★★ Please use the remote control to switch the machine from 'Heating (난방) (wave shape)' to 'Cooling (냉방) (snowflake shape)'.

-After the filter has been replaced, if you operate the dehumidifier, fan, or heater functions, the machine may not work well and may cause a problem for neighbouring rooms, and the air conditioners may be weak.

- Please understand that there may be some delay in heater/ cooler maintenance during the filter changing period and pre-operation period.

- Please note that even though the morning and daytime temperature differ, you cannot switch between heating and cooling.

3. Heater/ Cooler Filter Changing and Cleaning Schedule

*A male member of the utilities team will visit to change the filter following the schedule below. -In-gwan: Finished changing filters at the end of April.
